Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy
The Open Award Centre (OAC), as part of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Gibraltar (DOEIAG), fully recognises its responsibilities for child protection. The policy is embedded in legislation that can be found In the UK Children Act of 1989 and The Gibraltar Children Act of 2009.
Data Protection Policy
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Gibraltar – Open Award Centre (also known as, ‘the OAC’, ‘the Dukes’) (‘DOEIAG - OAC’) with registered charity number 245. Data Protection Policy concerns compliance with the Gibraltar General Data Protection Regulation.
Health and Safety Policy
The Open Award Centre (OAC) recognises and accepts its responsibilities, both under local legislation and also under any that are recommended by the NAO. As a responsible registered charity, the requirement to provide a safe and healthy environment for all participants, adults and others engaged in its activities is acknowledged.
Mobile Phone Policy
Using mobile phones on an adventurous journey (AJ) can destroy the sense of isolation and solitude core to the learning and self-reliance of the AJ section. The increased availability of mobile phones and other technology is more prevalent these days not just as communications devices but, also as navigational aids, evidence capture devices or, media platforms to name but a few.
Serious Incident Reporting Policy
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Gibraltar (‘the NAO’ herein referred to as ‘the National Award Operator (NAO)’) is obliged by The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation (‘the Foundation’) to report any serious incident, accident or potential claim that may have adverse impact on the organisation.
